6-6:15 p.m. (Welcome, News, and Announcements)
Greetings and welcome! Thank you for attending our quarterly Kinmoot. Our agenda for today includes: News and Announcements, a Name-That-Tune Contest, and a rousing game of Hiders-and-Seekers!
Before we get started, I suggest you have or create a chat tab which only tracks kinchat so it's easier for you to keep up with the proceedings.
First, News and Announcements.
As many of you are aware, Update 21 is currently running on Bullroarer. This Update is expected to be released the week of July 31 and you are already able to pre-order if you wish to do so. There are three tiers of purchase, so be sure to check out the LOTRO Market online for that.
Now for an update on our membership. Yesterday I tallied 102 members, although it's very hard to get an exact count unless everyone is using Player Notes in the Social Panel. For this reason, we ask that you please enter your main character's name in Player Note on each alt you have in the kin so we can get an idea of who's who. If you don't know how to do this, simply ask me or any officer after the meeting, and we will assist you. :)
Next, I would like to welcome all of our new members! We're very excited to have you all onboard with us. If you are new to the kin (defining "new" as joined us since Mar. 5, 2017), then please join me over here.
Thank you. For you new members, please step forward and introduce yourselves. Please tell us 1) Your main name, 2) Why you decided to join the Seekers, and 3) anything interesting you'd like to share about yourself!
Thank you very much! Let's have a big round of applause for our new members!
On that note, let me remind you that your officer corps is here to help you enjoy the game -- you can always ask any of us for help or advice.
One of the best ways to get in touch with anyone in the kin, including officers, is through our chat server, Discord. You can access the Discord app on your smartphone or on your desktop by following this link: https://Discord.gg/j8ZAh5w. Simply follow the installation instructions and you'll be connected to your kin wherever you go! If you have difficulty getting set up, just contact an officer in-game for assistance.
Speaking of officers, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that -- after many months without one -- we have finally appointed a Successor. Everyone please give Walt a round of applause for being willing to take on the added responsibilities of helping to manage the kin.
In another exciting development, Dwal -- who also brought us the Kinstagram -- has brought the kin to Facebook! Be sure to check us out and follow us for all kinds of announcements and useful information.
And, speaking of announcements, you will begin finding a newsletter in your LOTRO mailbox every week. This newsletter provides you with a run-down of all of the scheduled events for that week, so it will be a great resource if you are looking to get involved in more kin activities.
Finally, it's TIME TO LOOT THE KINCHEST! For those who aren't aware, we award Kin Points (KP) to Members who exemplify our core values by helping out other Members. This is done many ways, including by running instances, supplying the kin with needed crafting materials, and so on. The top five Members with the most KP get to dig through our Prize Box and select a prize! For more information, check out the forums on the kinsite.
In first place this quarter, it's Rim with 38 KP! Rim has led several instances, skirmishes, and even a raid into Lang Rhuven since our last Kinmoot, which helped some of our Members open up the level 105 resource dailies. Rim, please go inside, pull a prize from the kinchest, and let us see what you picked!
In second place with 21 KP, it's Belgavorn! Bel provided piles of much-needed crafting materials and adventuring support items like battle/warding scrolls. Bel, please go inside, pull a prize from the kinchest, and let us see what you picked!
In third place -- it's a five-way tie!!! That's right: Ace, Borg, Burn, Enji, and Lazur all came in third with 20 KP!
And last, but certainly not least, with 8 KP, it's Pastille! Past also submitted several stacks of much-needed crafting materials for use by the entire Kin. Past, please go inside, pull a prize from the kinchest, and let us see what you picked!
Let's have a round of applause for our winners! Remember, if you want to learn how to win KP, just head over to the kinsite and read all about the Award System in the Member Discussion Forums.
6:15-6:30 p.m. (Contest)
Thanks for your attention during those unusually lengthy updates. And now, let's have some more fun and win some more prizes! Voxi has arranged for a guest musician group to join us today, who will lead us in a Name That Tune Contest! Please welcome our guests, the Harlequins!
That concludes the Name That Tune Contest! Congratulations to all of the winners! Please note we plan to have similar contests at each Kin Meeting (every three months), so be sure to attend if you can! Thanks again, Voxi, for setting that up. Thanks also to everyone who donated to the prize pool, and of course thanks to the Harlequins for agreeing to entertain our motley crew!
6:30-7:00 p.m. Hiders-and-Seekers
And now for a fun game of Hiders-and-Seekers! Dwal has gotten himself lost somewhere in Middle-earth, and it's up to the Seekers to find him! The first person to locate his secret hiding places will get to pick a prize!
7:01 p.m. (Dismissal)
That's it for this quarter's Kinmoot! Once again I'd like to thank all of our officers for making this event posible, all of you who donated prizes to the Kinchest, and each and every one who turned out today. Remember: being part of a great kin starts with showing up, so thanks for doing your part in making Seekers of the Seven Stars a great kin! Namarie!
